Oktoberfest #5: Enjoy German food with German Beer!!

You are in Oktoberfest and drinking authentic German beer. Now in the tents, you smell something. Smell something makes your mouth water: German food.
So this is about “what German food will make you Happier in Oktoberfest.”

Sausages
We happily admit that sausages in Germany are wonderful. And we know there are so many kinds of sausages that it’s almost impossible to try all of them in a limited amount of time.
Thus please find out here which sausages will be delivered into your stomach to make you happier.

Weisswurst with Brezel
“Weisswurst is a traditional Bavarian sausage made from finely minced veal and fresh bacon, usually flavoured with parsley, lemon, mace, ginger, and cardamom.” Pretzel (Brezel in German) is something really traditional and is especially widespread in southern Germany.

Schweinshaxe with Sauerkraut and Potatoes
Schweinshaxe is a German traditional roasted ham hock, especially popular in Bavaria, where exactly you are drinking beer!
And sauerkraut, which is shredded cabbage that taste sour, will be a good break for your stomach after those heavy meat and sausages.

Eisbein
Pickled ham hock usually boiled with pot herbs and spices such as nutmeg and clove. This will be served with sauerkraut, potato, and mustard. Since this is a specialty of Berlin, not Bavaria, you may not find this in Oktoberfest. But if you do, please try. You will never get disappoint.

Hendle
Roasted chicken traditionally served in Bavarian festivals.

Fish
Why fish in Munich? Well, this is because, in Munich which locates inland of Germany, fish used to be something very precious so that was served in festival. Say hello to history.

Indulge yourself in a treat!!
