Oktoberfest #4: the Best Beer (Oh! So important!!)

By now, I guess you have some idea which tent you will go first.
So, now, let’s check beer, which is the most important in fest.

According to Reinheitsgebot/German Beer Purity Law, the only ingredients that could be used in the production of beer are water, barley and hops. Also Bavaria, as Munich its provincial capital, is known as a place where beer brewery started.
Yes, you are in right place to enjoy REAL BEER!!

Oktoberfestbier / Octoberfest beer
Authentic Oktoberfest beer is brewed only by the breweries within the city of Munich, and they are the only breweries allowed to serve in Oktoberfest in Munich as well.
Octoberfest beer is a golden, transparent lager beer which used to be brewed in winter and matured in caves during summer.
The alcohol percentage of the Oktoberfest beer: around 5.8% to 6.3% is higher than the beers you normally find in the market.

And other beers in the fest are…well, since it totally depends on your taste, I just introduce some of the beers.
So please try as many kinds as possible, and discover your favorite in the tents!

Paulaner Oktoberfest Bier
Best sold weissbier/weizen beer. “Weiss” means white, and ‘Weizen’ means wheat. Almost all the beers are made with barley, but weissbier/weizen beer is brewed with wheat (more than 50% of its ingredients.)
This is a beer with noticeable yeast sediment, fruitiness, a cloudy appearance, and is less bitter flavor.

Krombacher Pils
Are you a Pilsener drinker? Go get this beer. This is the most consumed Pilsener in Germany. It is dry and leaves a refreshing feeling. Also if you need to drive after the fest, or you don’t drink alcohol but want to enjoy the beer-drinking-atmosphere, please look for Krombacher Radler, which is an alcohol free variant.

In this tent, you may be able to taste kellerbier, a type of a German beer which brewed uncovered and is not clarified. It contains more of its original brewing yeast, contains less gasses, and is rich in hop aroma.
Please try Hacker – Pschorr Kellerbier - Anno 1417

“Why do you drink beer?” “Because they are there!”

Enjoy!!!
