Chicago: St. Patrick’s Day Green River






Chicago in March = flood of green.

On the St. Patrick’s Day, the downtown Chicago is filled with green: people in green, green river, and “Green River”. It’s not so well-known among international tourists, but it’s actually a very big event: roughly 350,000 people enjoyed the day in 2012.

Please keep in mind that, along with the rites, admission to some churches/cathedral will be limited.

Mass with members of Order of Malta
Where: Saint Peter's Cathedral, Vatican
Due to the Mass in the morning, entrance will open after noon.

Wednesday, February 13th
Ash Wednesday
Where: Sant Anselmo Church, Basilica of Saint Sabina
Due to the religious rites, entrance will close after noon.
