Carnival of Venice No.2: Costume for Carnival of Venice

Dressing up in a costume is a way to enjoy Carnival of Venice at a maximum.
The more elaborate and gorgeous costume, the better.

Also if you are planning to join this festivity in a Halloween-ish costume or in an ethnic costume other than Italian one… well, better think twice.

For most of us, unless spending great amount of time and effort for preparing, it is quite hard to make own costume which fits in fine with the carnival.

And that’s why there are several rental costume shops in Venice.
Price varies from around 500euros (simpler ones) to around 800euros (better quality ones) a day.
Yes, it’s quite expensive, but it’s worth renting one.

To check costumes and its prices, please visit the websites below.

You should not have any problem entering cafes and restaurants. But please check in advance if the museums and other tourist attractions will allow the admission of the people in costumes.

You will find street artists who put carnival makeup on you.
They should be around Saint Mark’s Square, and please be sure to ask the price beforehand.
