Seville, Spain: Feria de Abril de Sevilla

You hear “Spain.”
What do you imagine that it means?

Sun-drenched cities, cheerful people, full of vivid colors and delicious wine…

Well, for sure, north and south, or east and west of Spain can be very different, but
Feria de Abril de Sevilla/Seville Fair symbolizes “Spain” which you imagine.
Feria de Abril de Sevilla is a happy and full-of-life festival just as sun-kissed Andalucia itself.

More than 1,000 marquee tents called “caseta” cover a vast area in Seville.
Women in colorful costumes, men in chic riding suites, from 7 year old to 77 year old… well, everyone enjoys spring with drinking manzanilla, a dry taste sherry wine, singing/dancing with Sevillanas, folk song like flamenco, eating tasty food, etc.

The fair starts at 0:00am on April 16th and continues till 24:00pm of Sunday, April 21st.
Many schools and shops will close during this term.
No matter who you are; from Seville, from other cities in Spain, or from other countries, Feria de Abril de Sevilla is massive 6 day spring celebration.

Each day of the fair begins with the parade of carriages and riders.
Women in flowery costume walk around the venue by day (by the way, Andalucia is famous for beautiful women.)
People enjoy bullfight by evening (by the way, most of the bullfighters you see there are the top-names.)
Come back to the venue at night for drinking, singing, dancing, or simply to enjoy pleasant time with friends and families.

Most of the tents are privately owned and strangers can’t come in without invitation.
But don’t worry. There are publicly owned tents to which everyone is invited.
Also many of the private tents are open to the outside, thus pedestrians can see people singing and dancing there.

Please find an information center in the venue where you can get a map of the fair. Publicly owned tents should be indicated there.

For more information, please visit the official Website of Feria de Abril deSevilla.

Also please check these videos of the fair. Looks very, veeery fun, no?
