Christmas in New York
Cold weather, icy rain, fingers almost being frozen….
But who can resist the breathtakingly beautiful Christmas in New York? You have seen it many movies, TV programs, magazines… Christmas in the big apple has always attracted you, right?
It’s totally worth to stroll around with the layer of sweaters and globe, waterproof jacket and worm boots. Christmas in New York City is priceless!
Christmas Illumination
The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree
World famous symbol of Christmas, and an (almost) official start of the Christmas season in NYC. Over 20 meters/ 65 ft tree is decorated with more than 30.000 lights and crowned by big Swarovski star. Enjoy view of the gorgeous tree and the golden Prometheus statue.
If it’s not too crowded (or if you want some audience), this can be a romantic spot to propose marriage.
Where: Rockefeller Center Plaza, between W.48th & W.51st, and 5th & 6th.
We know it’s cute. But ice skating here may not be the wonderful experience. Cost over $20 and the rink is tiny. So, save here and enjoy some nice dinner afterword.
Sak’s Fifth Avenue Holiday Display
At the Rockefeller Center, look over your shoulder. Christmas display of Sak’s Fifth Avenue will amuse you too.
New York Stock Exchange
Aren’t they the bunch of hardheads? Well, you will find it out!
Christmas decoration of the New York Stock Exchange is one our favorite. The Christmas tree lighting has been a tradition since 1923. The NYSE Christmas illumination is, literally, lighting up the economy.
Where: 18 Brood St., at Exchange Pl.
Brooklyn Christmas illumination (please find & book a tour)
Dyker Heights, the Italian-American neighbourhood of Brooklyn, is famous for its spectacular Christmas decoration. The area is just like an amusement park.
Well, illumination is not the only attraction in New York in winter.
Holiday Shops
Holiday Market at Union Square
