Akihabara: the Otaku Paradise

Akihabara, it’s THE paradise for Anime fans, for gamers, for cosplayers, or, in one word, for “Otaku”s.

We will not write about what you can find there: all sorts of manga/comics, anime, games, figures etc… since you know way much better than we do. * if you are not familiar with these “sub”-but-amazingly-deep-culture, please check the website below, or google more info. You will find very unique and interesting culture there!

Instead, I will write how to get to Akihabara without being lost in mazy trains and subways in Tokyo.

Train: Either JR (Japan Railways) Keihin Tohoku line, JR Yamanote line, or JR Sobu line takes you to Akihabara. If you are coming from other major attractions in Tokyo, such as Shinjuku and Shibuya, you will take JR Yamanote line, and, without transfer, you will be in Akihabara within 30min.
If you are coming from Nakano, the other Otaku paradise, you can take JR Sobu line and you will be in Akihabara within 30min (without transfer!)

Subway (Tokyo Metro): If you are coming from attractions such as Roppongi, Hibiya (one of the closest station to the Imperial Palace), and Tsukiji, Tokyo Metro Hibiya line will take you to Akihabara.

To check transportation from/to other areas/attractions, please visit here (this website will be useful throughout your stay in the big cities in Japan.)

In our website, these hostels conveniently locate to Akihabara;
JGHTokyo: It’s nearest station is JR Keihin Tohoku line Nishikawaguchi station. You take train, and within 20min or so, you will be in Akihabara.

TokyoHostel: It’s nearest station is Tokyo Metro Hibiya line Minowa station, which is only 4 stops to Akihabara.

TokyoBackpackers: It’s nearest stations are either Tokyo Metro Hibiya line Minowa station, or Hibiya line Minami senju station.

Hope this will help you to enjoy Akihabara to the fullest!!
